When rugby players should rather stick to rugby...
Last Friday we had our annual "Karaoke night" which was a huge success at a very short notice. The theme was a "Beach Party" and guys wore anything from wife beaters to golf shirts. We still have to announce the winner and loser, but at this stage, i think there's only losers. You decide.... Cheers

Long time coming
Sorry for being so quiet folks, yes, we know we aren't winning any blog awards for being so inactive. We'll try and be more up to date on things and post some more pics and videos for you of whats happening on tour and be a bit more active than we have been recently. For those of you are a bit impatient, please follow Mike Jansen on his website at www.blitzbokke.com . He is doing amazing work for us off the field, so go check him out. We'll keep you up to date on things later in the week. f there ever was a sign for playing sevens, this would be it...
Cheers for now.
Cheers for now.

Seasons Greetings
Happy New Year to you and all your loved ones, we at the sevens camp hope 2012 will be a great year for all our fans and supporters. While Santa Clause came and visited the majority of good folks and even some naughty ones, he also dropped by the Blitzbokke and left us a little something (or actually something big) for Christmas. To our surprise, our stockings were way to small to fit in our new spotless training facility, fitted out with a pool, gym and indoor training field.

Unfortunately it doesn't belong solely to us, we share the facility with the WP academy and various other sporting codes. It's spectacular none the less. Thanks to all the parties involved for helping us to obtain such a wonderful tool for shaping the present squad and squads to come in our pursuit for success. It's not going to be an easy road ahead, but with all the support behind us we hope to inspire more people and gain more fans during the season that lies ahead!

World class
Kitch Christie once said " The truth is simple. You can't be world class unless you have world class problems, the opposition is the opportunity". Now, for those of you who don't know Kitch Christie,he was the only South African Springbok coach who has a 100% record for 14 consecutive matches.Yes, you might say it was only 14 matches but still he has the record and even in a World Cup year where teams bring their A game. Now this quote is nowhere else in the world more true than in sevens, every tournament you have fifteen world class problems, lets for arguments sake say it's sixteen. Why sixteen you might ask if you are only sixteen teams including yourself in a tournament?
Well,it's quite simple. You can be as much prepared as you like for any opponent, but if you are not prepared for your own mistakes and problems that might occur in a match (believe me they happen more often than you expect or hope for) then you are done for and then it's back to the drawing board to hopefully go and fix it the next time. So then, is every team world class? No,not every team. But every team has the ability to be. The team that i am part of, is not world class. It's phenomenal! Pardon me if it sounds arrogant but i've never been part of a more humble, committed, hard working and passionate team than this. And it's all the support from our fans, friends and loved ones that makes us who we are. We all come from such diverse backgrounds and past and were all blended together to form something truly special.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you everyone that supported us during this year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The Long Hard Road Ahead...
Well, here we are again... on our way to the start of another exciting sevens series, with our last pre season week done and dusted, the guys look quite ready and excited to start the new season. It has been a long hard 17 weeks of preparation that went by, but it wasn't just all work and no play. Thanks to Land Rover Stellenbosch, we got treated to a very awesome Saturday morning of cruising around the wine route area in Range Rovers,Discovery's and the all new Evogue. It was a very fun filled day and i would just like to thank Estelle and Frik for organizing it all. But after that, it was back to work and what lies ahead of us is a massive mountain to climb yet again. It's gonna be a long hard road ahead of us....But with all our supporters backing us, we will be up for the challenge.
